Well, It's been well over two years since I last posted on this blog. I could feel shame or guilt but I just don't buy into shame or guilt because it's such a waste of mental energy. I just prefer to pick up where I left off and leave it at that.
This post is dedicated to Beverly Parrish who recently signed up for my mailing list. I remember the name very clearly but I can't remember from where. - Australia, New Guinea or North Dakota. Wherever I know you from, Beverly, thank you. I was inspired.
It took some determination, but I was finally accepted as an online tutor by Preply and things have worked out very well. In the last sixteen months I have conducted 1300 lessons with students from all over the world and it has been amazing. These students have become my new best friends. I offer excellent rates (my Social Security discount) and conduct about 25 lessons per week.
I'm still happily living in Guadalajara (four and a half years already) and still conduct a few classes in the city. I love my Mexican students but I'm 68 now and often feel my age, so I prefer to work from the computer.
The first year, I wrote one grammar/vocabulary exercise per week and they were well received. Then I got tired of that so I began writing one page chapter summaries from my autobiography and they have been very popular, so I keep writing them. For example, here is Chapter One, quiz and answers. Enjoy!
